Part-Time Organist is needed to join our warm and inviting, spirit-filled church family.

 Overview/Summary:  Vibrant church with a rich musical history has a new music minister and is moving in many exciting directions in this part of its ministry.  This part-time (approximately 6 - 8 hours/wk), paid position reports to and is directed by the Music Minister.   The successful candidate will assist the music minister, pastor(s), other church staff and volunteers in complementing the spirit and themes of worship services through music and providing opportunities for congregants to share their musical gifts. 
Optimal experience is at least 3+ years serving as an organist in a church setting.

Spiritual Leadership:
• Perform duties to complement a spiritual environment.

Communication:
• Attend periodic meetings of the directors of JLMUMC music worship team.
• Coordinate with music minister, who has responsibility to ensure that music selections complement and enhance the worship experience.

Administration:
• Submit budget requests in a timely manner.
• Be aware of the “Two-Adult Rule” as defined in the Safe Sanctuary Policy and disseminate as needed. [Copies of the Safe Sanctuary Policy are on file in the Christian Education office.)

Professional development:
• Pursue job-related continuing education and training (in consultation with the music minister and senior pastor).
