Connecting Jesse Lee UMC internally and to our communities through communication is a critical enabler of the church’s mission. Effective June 1, we are delighted to announce that we will have our first-ever communication manager on staff to help us do just that, and her name is Heidi Yeranossian.
With more than 30 years of marketing and communication experience, Heidi brings diverse and highly relevant sets of skills and experiences to this new role. This includes roles as vice president with global public relations agency Ketchum, and most recently as CEO of Madison on Main Street, a Ridgefield-based agency working with clients that include Mastercard, American Airlines, Citibank, and others. She also brings significant experience with Christian ministries through her work with First Congregational Church in Ridgefield.
Heidi’s role with Jesse Lee UMC is to develop and execute communication strategies that deliver greater awareness and understanding of what we’re doing, when, where and how. That includes building a strategy that delivers a clear and consistent narrative to a wide range of stakeholders; developing and distributing engaging content; amplifying our voice in a wide array of social, digital and other channels; and increasing our reach.
“Heidi brings an exceptional blend of Faith-based experience and high-quality skills to Jesse Lee at a time when we need it most,” said Senior Pastor Bill Pfohl. “As our church continues to evolve locally, in the New York Conference and internationally, having an experienced communicator to help us articulate our path forward will be critical.”
The roles and responsibilities for the new role -- which has designated funding from an anonymous donor for two years -- were developed by a Jesse Lee Communications Manager Search Committee, which vetted multiple candidates and worked with the Staff Parish Relations Committee to select the final candidate. Heidi will report directly to Pastor Bill.
Look for more on Heidi in the coming weeks, but as your path crosses hers, please join us in welcoming her to Jesse Lee UMC!
