We want you to serve with us this January in Collier County, Florida!
Florida may be known for its warm, luxurious spots for vacation and thriving communities, but in fact, it is one of the areas in the United States in most need of relief. It is estimated that the cost of hurricane damage is $28 billion dollars a year in the United States. Florida itself contributes to 55% - $15 billion dollars- to this number. These numbers are staggering but still do not even account for the damage of disruption and trauma for the people affected. Family homes are damaged or washed away, leaving the inhabitants to relocate and repair. But you can help!
We are very excited to invite you to join us on January 2nd through January 9th on a trip to Collier County, Florida to take part in the repair project lead by the Florida UMC. This will be a completely young adult trip. There are 20 spots available and will operate on a first come first serve basis. We will be flying to Florida, and then we will have access to minivans which we will use while in the county. For the flight, we will have carry-ons only, with the exception of musical instruments or medical equipment. The host church will provide beds and linens for the week.
There is a registration fee of $250, which can be done either by clicking the link below or as a check made out to Jesse Lee UMC (this can be mailed in or dropped off. We ask that you pay the extra 3% required to cover the processing fee making your total $257.50. You will also be required to fill out a registration form and the Google Form.
Registration is now closed. Hope you can join us next year.
Deadline for registration is November 29th which is approaching quickly on Black Friday.
I hope you are as excited as we are for this opportunity to help our friends in Florida. Do not hesitate to reach out to Sara Collins or Cassie Pavain with any questions.
