When does Sunday School occur?
Sunday school takes place during the 9 am. service on Sunday mornings. We host our Sunday School classes for ages 3 – 5th grade. Your children should remain with you in the service until excused to Sunday school after the Children’s Moment.
Tell me about your Sunday School Curriculum:
We use a variety of curricula depending on the class format and age group. The children will meet together each week for prayer, music, testimonials and topical, age appropriate activities in a vibrant group setting. Emphasis will be placed on fellowship, self-expression and fun with peers as well as energetic and inspirational teachers and volunteers. Our fall Sunday school theme is “Christian Community in Action.”
Who teaches Sunday school?
We welcome kids into a safe environment with wonderful, caring adults that love to teach and have fun. Our Guiding Lights (adult and youth leaders) provide consistency, community-building, application, dedication and a sense of fun as they building strong relationships with the kids and God. All of our Guiding Lights connected with Jesse Lee Children’s Ministry are required to go through a volunteer application process that includes a background check and interview with our paid Children's Ministry Director.
Is there a Nursery and what is the age range for the Nursery?
We have a Nursery down the hallway next to the Sanctuary. Babies to young 3 year-olds are welcome. All children are cherished and well-supervised by our experienced paid childcare workers. Parents are contacted by cell phone should they be needed during the service. Be sure to sign-in on the clipboard when dropping off your child and give us the number of your cell phone. Remember to turn the phone on vibrate during the service.
Can you tell me about the music program for the children?
Music is integrated into the Sunday School program at all age levels.
