We have a diverse range of choir possibilities. We have choirs for kids to choirs with challenging songs both vocally and instrumentally. We practice on Thursdays from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary.Music is a vital part of our worship experience, and provides us with a joyful way to worship the Lord. Our choir and orchestra offers an opportunity for you to share your talents with our community. We sing a wide variety of arrangements, from classical to contemporary, and we welcome brass, strings, and woodwinds to accompany our singers. These four individual teams lead the music in our contemporary worship service at 10:00 a.m. Each team leads the worship music every fourth Sunday. The teams include guitars, drums, brass & vocalists. Our music is current, popular, and Christian. It’s exciting, it’s fun, and it’s high energy. Practice: 8:15 am before they sing at the 9:00 am service on the first, third, & fifth Sunday of the month.Do you love music and have the frequent impulse to sing? You will enjoy being a part of Impulse choir. We practices before we sing. The songs are quick to learn. You can show up to practice, and sing on the same Sunday morning. We practice Sunday 5:00pm in SanctuaryIf you are in middle school or high school, you are invited to join a fun and exciting music group. This group is to be shaped and directed by those involved in it. Song selection, musical styles, performance schedule, etc. will all be highly dependent on what participants want to do with it. ○ You don’t need to be able to read music or have had any special instruction ○ You will have opportunities for solos and/or small group performances - if you want ○ You can work on rhythm, melodies, harmonies and/or your instrument(s) of choice We will share our music at worship services and potentially other venues This is going to be fun. COME JOIN IN THE FUN. The junior choir is a dynamic group of K through 5th graders who enjoy praising God through music. The music is often in two parts which provides an opportunity to experience harmony. The children are encouraged to share any talents they may have with instrumentation as well, be it simple rhythm instruments or strings/band instruments that they have studied. Practices are Sunday mornings immediately following Sunday School in Martin Hall. The children sing approximately once a month in church. Contact Deb Ahle with questions, 203-438-6782.
Practice: Thursday 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm in the Choir LoftJesse Lee has a long history of integrating the beautiful sound of handbells in our worship celebrations. If you have never tried playing handbells, but are able to read music, consider joining us. All are welcome to join in. Instruction and practice are provided so that you can learn the technique and feel comfortable playing. We share the gift of the bells about once a month, normally at the 11:00 a.m. worship service. For Lessons and Carols and Easter, we perform at both the 9 and 11:00 services. We also play at the candlelight service on Christmas Eve. Director: Jenni Mason
