If you read from the same translation of the Bible all the time, you might want to add some variety to your reading. Using a study Bible or different translation might bring some new insights or inspiration. The NIV, NRSV, The Voice and the Message are all available free of charge online. Click here.
Harper Collins Study Bible (NRSV) -- has informative, readable introductions to each of the books of the Bible plus notes on each page. Yale Divinity School's recommended study Bible.
The Voice -- A faithful equivalent translation of the Bible that reads like a story or a play. I find it often draws me into the Bible stories on a personal level more than other translations.
The Message -- A contemporary English translation. Nice to compare with more formal translations like the NRSV.
Kids' Quest Study Bible by Zondervan. Though this says it is a kids' bible, it is wonderful for adult devotions as well. There are lots of maps, interesting facts, and a very readable, good translation.
Too busy to sit down and read? Want to listen while driving or folding laundry? Try one of the Bible apps that reads to you:Bible IS -- dramatic readings of the Bible verses. complete with sound effects and different voices. This kept me going on my long commutes to Yale Divinity School.
Bible Gateway -- straight reading of all the books of the Bible

Pastor Karen Eiler and I like the Sacred Ordinary Days Planner. It's a great way to do your devotions as well as plan out each day. It goes along with the Common Prayer Book for Ordinary Radicals.
